Fourth of Nature

We are swelling with gratitude for all the many folks who have registered but we’ve reached our capacity. The land, food, and residents simply can’t swell anymore. We love you and can’t wait to swell with you at Vamonos, Femmes to the Front, and/or Ancestor’s Week!

A gathering invoking the elements and deepening our connection to land and community.

This July 4th through 7th, join Groundswell Community under a waxing moon as we share our queer stories—past, present, and future—through the lens of the four elements.

In Midsummer, we gather to renew our interpersonal connections and enrich our sense of community purpose. We explore our growth as a dynamic community of humans and creatures across many-dimensional spectrums of masculine and feminine, cis and trans, people of color, people of divergent experiences, and people in places between. We explore what separates us, what brings us together, and ultimately what comes next for us queers living with this ever changing world.

Arrive, embody yourself, embrace your kin.

Connect and ground. Retreat and center.

Come listen and share.

Revel in your queerness.

Programming includes facilitated workshops and sharing circles (from Building Traditions through Lore to Fire Cupping and even a little BDSM ), a kNow Talent Show, Heart Circles, Movement & Dance exploration, and our ever anticipated Pond Party. We end with a summit for reflection on our culture, who we are, where we queers have come from, and where we are going.

Join us in the golden summertime!

Groundswell is a queer, trans, poc, body and sex positive space. ALL are welcome.

Consent is not only sexy, but essential.

Groundswell offers cabins with single and double occupancy beds with capacity for up to 50 people + ample camping spots for those who prefer sleeping outdoors.

Participants will have full access to campgrounds, a pond and creekside beach, a commercial size hot tub, as well as delicious and well balanced meals all included as part of their registration fees.

Registration Fees: We have tiered ticketing available to meet people where they’re at financially. Our Standard Gathering Rate is $300. Reduced Rate is $200. If you have more and are able, our Extra Giving rate is $400.

Scholarship Fund: We understand that hardships arise and we work really hard to make it so that economics are not a barrier to joining us. If you are in need of scholarship funding, email and someone will get back to you shortly with a questionnaire. If you are able to contribute to our scholarship fund and help others get to the land, you can contribute below.

***It's super important that you register for events before arriving at Groundswell. We NEED to know that you're showing up so that we can appropriately plan for food and lodging needs. We have register now, pay later options available.***

We have a carpool ride share board available to coordinate rides with other gathering participants. You can sign up here:

Any additional questions, you can reach out via email at, post to the Facebook event page, or send us a Facebook message.
