YOUR OCCASION, OUR PASSION
Whether it’s a focused retreat or or a wedding in the redwoods, when you schedule an event at Groundswell you get more than just a beautiful rustic venue. Our retreat center is owned and operated by the members of our residential community, so we’re invested in your satisfaction in a way that conventional businesses can’t match. From the abundant flowering plants on the decks to the carefully customized menus, we go all-out to welcome you and your attendees, and as a bunch of radical queers, we do it with flair.

From simple vegetarian fare to elaborate feasts, we pride ourselves on our food service, prepared by our in-house catering team in our commercial kitchen. We use organic seasonal produce and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, and will gladly tailor our menus to your taste, budget, and special dietary needs.
Our land community includes Disabled folks and Groundswell is committed to working to remove barriers that keep Disabled queers from joining us on the land. We have retrofitted our dining hall, hot tub, bath facilities, and largest cabin (with van-accessible parking) to meet ADA specifications. While parts of our terrain are very steep, and we can’t remove the barriers that nature has created, we are committed to removing institutional and cultural barriers that limit participation for all queer and like-minded people. Please feel free to contact us with any specific access questions.
No two events are the same, so prices will vary depending on the size, season, and specifics of your program. For example, for a group of 60 people, during our busy season, rates start as low as $75 per person per day, including catering services. Our catering staff is happy to develop a menu to meet your group’s needs.
